Hidden Rivers Community Screening
A community screening of Hidden Rivers was held at the Princess Theater on Sunday, March 8. Before the film, attendees heard from Dr. Bernie Kuhajda, Aquatic Conservation Biologist with the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute, who shared insights into ongoing conservation efforts in our local rivers.
Ten years in the making, Hidden Rivers is Freshwaters Illustrated’s newest feature film, showcasing the extraordinary biodiversity of the Southern Appalachian region—North America’s most biologically rich freshwater ecosystem. The film follows conservation biologists and explorers as they reveal both the beauty and vulnerability of these waterways.
Approximately 50 community members attended the event, raising $391 in donations to support SPARQ.
The 2nd Annual Cristy’s Closet
A Fashion Tribute to Our Most Fabulous took place on February 21 at Arts in the Burg. Guests enjoyed an evening of fashionable shopping, live entertainment by Caleb Thomasson, a silent auction, signature drinks crafted by Marcus Sacks, and a generous spread of hors d’oeuvres.
This event honors the memory of Cristy Collier, a beloved supporter of the arts. Special thanks to Cristy’s friends for hosting, her family for donating her wardrobe, and all who contributed clothing, shoes, and accessories.
